How do I deal with the frost damaged shoots on my roses, will they recover?

Our Advice:

Most roses are very hardy, although the tender new shoots can be damaged by a late frost. Usually, the damaged shoots will turn black, shrivel and die, but the rose will often produce new shoots, lower down the stem. Prune off the damaged shoots when you are sure they are dead this will help to prevent any fungal infections.
