Whitefly

Image of Whitefly

Description

Also known as glasshouse whitefly, these are tiny (1.5mm long), sap-sucking insects with white wings. They prefer warm conditions and feed on a wide range of plants.

Symptoms

Both adults and juveniles feed on plant sap and excrete sticky “honeydew” on the foliage, stems and fruits of host plants, which encourages the growth of black sooty mould. When a host plant is disturbed, clouds of whitefly will fly up before settling back on the plant.

What next...

Now you know what the problem is, and the damage it is doing, don't let your plant suffer.
