Hell for leather(jackets)

One of the worst pests for your lawn are leatherjackets, larvae of the crane fly or daddy-longlegs. They eat the grass roots (causing yellow and dead patches) and attract birds, foxes and badgers, which rip up your lawn to eat them. The adults are still flying and laying eggs in the soill.
