Centipedes

Image of Centipedes

Description

The British species of centipede are dark or yellowish-brown in colour and have segmented bodies 30-60mm long and 2-4mm wide, with one pair of legs per segment. Some live in the soil others on the soil surface.

Symptoms

Centipedes are never pests but considered to be the gardeners friends as they feed on other small soil animals. When disturbed they move quickly with a snake-like motion through the soil.

What next...

Now you know what the problem is, and the damage it is doing, don't let your plant suffer.
