Winter Salads

Given the protection of a cold frame, polythene tunnel or cold greenhouse salads can be grown pretty well through the winter. Youngsters have planted endive and red leaved radicchio both outside to be covered by fleece and in a greenhouse border in Essex. We will show you how they develop. (Above: Nicely established Endive and Radicchio plants set out in the border soil at St. Michael\'s C. of E. School in Essex)
