Timely Tips

Root crops including beetroot, carrots, potatoes and turnips can be harvested now to clear soil ready for autumn crops. Once carrots are lifted screw off the leaves and store in a plastic container covered in old, moist, potting compost and keep somewhere cool. The other three once lifted and the skins dry, store well in paper bags or cardboard boxes again somewhere cool. Remember potatoes must be kept frost free.
